I'll just add those sedum plants to the 100 foot perennial bed with my 7 other plants as the Calla Lily & Peacock orchid bulbs are tender here. Toward the end of the season I picked up a couple of (15)Cinquefoil, & a few (16)Lupine.

5/1/96  I've gone long enough without any new plants so I'm going to spend some of the money I don't have. I picked up a climbing rose, (17)Cecile Bruner. What a beauty this one is. I got this rose from Vinny's but it has the Jackson Perkins name on the carton. I also got myself (18)250 tulips. I hope it's not too late in the season to plant them. What the heck I'm here, lets get that Yarrow (19)Moonshine. O.K. then, I've only got about 82 more feet till I fill up this bed.

I don't see a problem with getting a couple of these purple cone flowers (20)Magnus and just one BIG batch of (21)Hen & Chicks. So I did.

June, 19
96 Stopped off at Vinny's for a quick check on any of the plants I missed on my last visit. I picked up a patch of (22)Lamb's ear. Because I can't go shopping without buying at least one thing, I picked up a couple of Polemonium caeruleum or (23)Jacob's Ladder and a couple of the daylilies. Check it out. (24)Day lily

O.k. it's now September and I waited log enough. Lets go shopping! There's a woman down the street from me who has a yard sale every fall to thin out her perennials and I've already given up on the idea that I'm the only one in the neighborhood with a particular plant so let me see what she has. All right then, well, it seems as though just about everything she's willing to unload I already have. But I did manage to pick up a few things. Have a look.

Let me take you back a bit as I'm sure your wondering what the heck is taking this person so long to make this (Victory garden) anyway. Well, this is what I started with. As I am not a millionaire I doing it all by hand.

O.K. then, back to business. It's now April, 1997 I'm in the mood for some Astilbe. So it's off to the nursery. What the heck lets fill up the bed in the front. Back up the truck. Here comes the (28)Astilbe, after all that's what I went for (29)Juniper, (30)Tickseed, (31)Iris, (32)Mallow, (33)Geum & then I thought I had better quit while I could so I didn't pick up the four weeping cherries. $79.00 each. But I have plans, big plans and I will get them.

Oh, what's this ? I forgot I ordered these from Spring Hill. (34)
Red trumpet vine. I remember now why I really don't like ordering from the catalogues. The plants seem a bit small and spindly but I'll give them a shot. So, in the ground they went.

I think I see it coming along but with the property being so big, it's really hard to tell. I should have taken the hints from all the books I read and started in one area and worked my way outward. But I DIDN'T Hopefully I can learn from here.

Wow ! Another year has gone by and it's now time to start planting something new. It's 1998,and Nor' East has sent me a catalog of miniature roses. I ordered 6 yellow plants called Golden Halo. They aren't offering this particular one any longer but they do have quite the selection for purchase. Again, I found them to be a bit small but all and all in great shape. They have grown quite nicely for me and in 2004 there still going strong. (35)Here they are.
