Propagation: 
Layering any time during the season. Cut off the following spring.

Take any part of the vine and bury it in the soil until it roots. When new growth is about two inches cut away from the parent plant. Clematis roots need to be kept on the cool side. Supply four to six (4 to 6) inches of an organic mulch (compost, wood chips) in the spring over the plant's root system.
